Professional Bio
I'm currently an Academic Advisor III in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences at Iowa State University. I was previously a Lecturer in Political Science at Iowa State University. I've earned my B.S. and my M.A. from Iowa State University majoring in both Psychology and Political Science. I've also recently finished my PhD in Political Science (with concentrations in American Politics and Psychology) at The University of Alabama.

My main research interests reside in the field of Political Psychology. My research focuses on political misinformation broadly. It includes how we cognitively process it, who is most susceptible and why, and how we can potentially overcome harmful information using inoculation theory. In our polarized political environment and an ongoing global pandemic this research is extremely timely and necessary.

I have also previously done research focusing on the Voting Rights Act of 1965, the efficacy of Sections 2 and 5, and why it needs to be passed into law again by Congress.
